Finally Moved In!

Well, not that we're not keeping Scott & Gwen's hardship in mind, we just thought that since we finally got settled in we'd share our own hardship with everyone.

Our stuff finally came last Sunday, only three weeks late! When we got everything, we started seeing how a lot of stuff was damaged or broken. When we left on Aug 19, other movers had to come to get us out of the house and into storage units. Thanks to Tom who waited there all day for us, we were able to leave to get to Michigan. Our mover (Mike) wasn't ready to bring us to Michigan, unlike he promised continually up to when we left) and had moved everything from the storage units into a moving truck, then had problems with the truck and had to put everything BACK into a storage unit, and then again onto a truck when they finally brought it out here. I guess, since we weren't there, that Mike decided they didn't have to be cautious with our stuff and so we have a ton of stuff damaged. Also, I don't think it was Mike, but one of the scuzzy guys he was paying decided to walk off with one of our boxes. In that box was our DVD player with surround sound speakers, our Wii and GameCube, and all our games, our printer, and a thing of cds with all our family pictures and everything on them.

So, now, we get to take this guy to small claims because everything lost or damaged totalled over $4000, and he still says we're just not looking hard enough to find the missing box. So, not only did it take him forever to get here, but now we're having to replace things we don't have the money for. What an experience.

I just wanted to thank Tom and Greg (and their wives, of course) for helping us out so much through this ordeal. I don't know what would have happened without them.
