Do you moms ever feel invisible? I do sometimes. "Rachel, come here." No reaction. "Rachel?" Nothing. "Rachel, come here now please." Nada.
I walk into a room I swear I cleaned fifteen minutes earlier and it looks the same (or worse) then it did before I did anything. Am I going crazy? Here is an awesome clip my friend sent me.

Isn't that neat? I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. :) I love the line that goes "God notices every cupcake you make, every sequin you sew on." We aren't just doing this for our husbands and our children, but for God. He notices the things we do, even if others don't. We are building great cathedrals. They may just be tiny little walls right now, but as time passes and we add brick after brick, they will become so much more. If no one else did, God noticed us spending an hour putting away every toy, wiping off the little hand marks on the mirrors, wiping off the counters, vacuuming the carpets. And we can take comfort in knowing that we did them because we love our children and we want them to live in a clean, comfortable home. If we have to do it again, so be it. We'll get to be more humble and more self-sacrificing and will love our children even a little more at the end of it. Hooray! :) I guess I just need to change my persective from "did I do anything today that stayed done or that someone noticed" to "did I serve my children, my friends, my family, or my spouse in some way" or "am I a better person/mother than I was yesterday...am I more humble, more Christlike, do I love my children and spouse more?" I don't know about you, but I think that THOSE are the true accomplishments.

I enjoyed the video and your thoughts. Thank you.
This was great - I've been sewing sequins on Sydnie's stocking!
That lady was an awesome speaker. Thanks Mel! I am sure when I am a mom, I'll look back on that often ;)
