Despite the lack of communication....We're still Alive!

I just wanted to post (from work on Saturday) since we still don't have internet at home. We are loving Michigan! The other day I was driving home from work and took a new route (looking for a better drive than the normal 40 mintues to go 10 miles...and I thought Bear Valley Road was bad!). The new route took me right by the hotel Van and I stayed at in July 2007 when we visited Van's sister and came to the Univ. of Michigan to meet with a counselor there. I thought about how, at that time, we had no idea when we'd be in Michigan, and believed we'd end up in Lansing, away from the school, and thought it would still be two-three years before we here. Now, just one year later, we are here, right where we need to be, and every little detail and problem in getting here fell into place just right for us to be here in such a short time. I got choked up (no way, a Gibbons Man crying, right?) thinking, despite the struggles and trials we have faced and are facing, and all the problems we had with the move, the Lord blesses us beyond reason, beyond deserve, beyond hope. And, while we miss being around my family (not just in CA), we have Van's family here and we are happier, more content, and know we are meant to be here. For the first time in over ten years I no longer have the feeling that we will be moving on some day. We are home.

We love you all and welcome any emails (that's the best way, since we can run out to use the internet at the laundry mat). We can't wait for the next family reunion!
