My Trip to Utah for the Mission Reunion (and, er, Conference)

I say, "and, er, Conference" because I watched all 4 sessions at either Bippe and Mel's or Arisa Sanchez's boyfriend's aunt and uncle's home. So, really, I drove to Utah mainly for the mission reunion. It was AMAZING to see my old friends and companions. I felt such a love for them, and was able to make peace (at least with myself) with my one trouble companion. It was amazing.

It was so good to see President and Sister Cowley again! And after the picture slideshow, President gave an "address" (I guess that is what you would call it) and it felt just like being back in a Zone Conference. We sang our mission song, and Ashley Hatch (my MTC comp and comp in Morgantown, WV) took my hand and mouthed that we should stand, so we did and everyone followed our example and stood. It was overpowering then, the good feelings and nostalgia and the Spirit. What a tender mercy it was to be able to be present.

I stayed with Bippe and Mel in their BEAUTIFUL home that smells SOOOOOO good! By the end of the weekend Rachel let me hold her, and she even was asking about me after only a few hours of me being there! :) Thank you SOOOO much Bippe and Mel!!!

I also got to see Donald Scott and catch up with him, even if it was just briefly. I spent all Saturday with Arisa Sanchez, and after the Conference afternoon session we went to the library on BYU's campus to do homework, and I met the cutest guy, Ryan. I was having problems with one of my accounting homework problems (mainly because I was sleep deprived at this point) and so Ryan went around and asked every single person in that portion of the library if they were an accounting major and could help me out. Unsuccessful from his mission, he came back and sat close to me and asked me to explain the problem. As I did, I stumbled across where I had been going wrong and immediately was able to find the right answer. It was very cool :) I only mention this because for the first time since I arrived home from the mission field I felt like I hadn't completely botched the flirting process (for those of you who are married now, just try to remember back to your single's days...yeah, exactly. I am excited to move onto the next phase of life and stop being awkward! :D ). I only did one bad thing- as I was leaving Ryan asked for my last name, and said he will see me around. I responded, "No you won't, I live in California" which he already knew. I don't know why I didn't say something a little better. Haha, I hope you have enjoyed this narrative! :)

I love you all so much. I love the gospel, and the peace and joy it brings. Oh, we have a third roommate now, Nicole. She is endowed, and so we are going to switch off who drives to the temple when we go, and we have the goal to do it weekly. I am loving San Bernardino!! Love y'all!!

Haha, well, it wasn't 100% successful I guess because I didn't get his # and he didn't get mine, although he did say "I have to know what your last name is" and I thought he'd look me up on Facebook or something. But then my roomie pointed out that I spell my name odd and he won't know how to find me then. She is trying hard to convince me to call his work (he works on BYU giving tours to all the diplomats and people who are specially invited to tour the campus...he offered to give me a tour on Monday, but I was leaving Sunday...)I am too chicken though- I just don't really see the point since I am in Cali and he is in Utah...Why I didn't offer my number or ask for his...
