Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania

Hershey factory

Monument at the local courthouse to Will's Grandfather who died in WWII. The picture behind us on the wall is him.

Rachel is looking for snacks in the fridge.

Will's only living close relative is his maternal grandmother. She lives in nowheresville, PA. Just kidding, the town is McClure. Its Amish country. Well, its been 4 years since he has been able to visit her and Rachel and I have not met her yet so we used our tax return to buy plane tickets for Thanksgiving. She was so happy to see us and especially meet Rachel. We enjoyed the visit and hope to see her again before she passes on. She is still pretty healthy but she is 87 years old and we can't afford to make the trip very often.

His grandma says he acts a lot like him too. How he takes care to look good in appearance and how he is always so polite to everyone. A gentleman. I wish we could have met him. There is a link on my blog to their story if you are interested to read about it. It is a cute but sad love story. A common one for that era.
