Hello family! This is Scott. As some of you know, I'm helping with the founding of a new Cub Scout pack, Pack 3550, in South Dallas. This is a very poor area with a history of lots of crime and gang activity. Recently it has started to improve thanks to a non-profit, Christian organization coming in, purchasing properties, creating out-reach programs, etc. A friend of mine in the Church works as a police officer in the area. He got the idea of starting a Cub Scouting program there, but needed help as he had little experience with the program. So he recruited me, we contacted the local council, and voila! Pack 3550 was born.
We're still a small pack, but starting to grow. (We just got our first parent volunteer!) Anyway, I took a video of the boys performing a skit with paper bag hand puppets and promised I'd put it on the family blog for everyone to see (anyone recognize the skit?). Sorry about the camera angle, I'll do better next time. Hope you enjoy!

The boys (and you!) are having so much fun. We're proud of you Scott, helping to make a diiference in their lives.
My brother is so awesome! Good job, Scott! Thanks for letting us know what's going on!
This is really cool! I love the directing from behind the camera.

Scott,
What a great thing you are doing for these boys! Just shows how all boys love to have fun--keep up the great work!

Hope they get their uniforms soon. I remember Dad saying that the uniform holds the same sort of meaning that the gang affiliation stuff does - they are part of a special group, identity.
