In the spirit of Thanksgiving

At my work, peer mentors can put on our website little notes to each other. In one of them, this video was posted and I think it's one we could all benefit from.

On our way to Wyoming yesterday, our car's engine messed up. Halfway there, we found out that our engine's motor mounts were shot, and our engine was moving around every time we shifted. Obviously, super dangerous. We had to be towed the rest of the trip, over 2 hours worth, and have to fix the car. Roy also really needs a new phone, which will be kind of expensive as well. It's times like these with these expenses that out weigh our bank account, that we can either start freaking out and stressing out about the future, or we can take a moment to remember what we have, the resources we have that will help us get through any financial problems, and the blessings the Lord has given to the world as a whole. That'll prepare us for the present and future so much better.
This guy being interviewed only hits on a few things we need to be more grateful for, but in the season of Thanksgiving, lets expand this to remember everything we have already. For example, Roy and I were blessed to be able to already have gone halfway so we could be picked up, the Lord prompted me to pull over (I had originally thought something was wrong with the tire. The tire looked fine, but when I turned the car back on, that's when we heard the funny noises, etc.) so we didn't have our engine fall out and cause a big wreck, we started the journey in the early morning instead of Monday night like originally planned, etc.

I just think it's a better way to live life when we thank our Heavenly Father for all we have been given already, especially the little "tender mercies" we can sometimes take for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving family! We love you!

Thanks for sharing Heather! I remember feeling the financial stresses when our car broke down on the way home from our honeymoon. It must happen to all newly weds. Probably has nothing to do with the quality of cars newlyweds drive and everything to do with the Lord teaching us. Haha. jk. Funny video especially the "give it a second, it's going to SPACE!"

Im very grateful for family!

Haha I think you're right Heather! We took it to a mechanic and found out our transmission is also shot. Good car, just a fluke that it messed up so badly.
