Jacob is going to be going to Jr. High next year and he really wants to be able to ride his bike to school, so I guess we have to buckle down and teach him how to ride a bike!
Scott taught him the basics over Spring Break and then I've been taking him out in the evenings on a smaller bike. Today, he finally rode his own bike all the way to the stop sign and back! He is so jazzed!

Yay Jacob! What a STUD! We love you guys! :-)
Wow! I can't believe you're about to be in Jr. High!! You're getting so old! Great job on the bike man, can't wait to see you all at reunion!
That is so cool!!! I love the pictures, so green and beautiful..... man I forget what green looks like.
I remember it was Scott that always had the most patience with teaching. I remember how mom offered $20 to anyone that could teach Leighann how to ride a bike. I remember I tried so hard, only to come storming into the house saying something terrible like, "she is so wimpy... it is impossible" or perhaps something even more rude (sorry Leighann). But Scott was able to teach her. I think that was the start of the closeness they have. It is fun to remember that.
Wait to go Jacob! Bike riding is one of the great joys of life!!!
good job Jacob! bikes are so fun!
Leighann was just telling Mom and Dad this weekend about how Scott was the only brother who sat down to talk to her to find out her biggest fear wasn't falling down, but being laughed at by the neighborhood kids, and then he got her up at 4 a.m. to go over to the Black Hills neighborhood to teach her how to ride a bike. Thanks, Scott, for teaching my wife to be less wussy (smiley face)
Well Grandpa Gibbons is doubly proud of not only Jacob, but also Scott for being so patient! Way to go Jacob! Grandpa loves you, Grandson! And way to go Scott. I really appreciated Leighann sharing her story of her brother taking her at 4 am way out in a different neighborhood to teach her. Mom and I never knew! We are soooooo...proud of our family!
