For quite a while now Gwen and I have been discreetly looking for a change in my employment (this is Scott writing, if you couldn't tell, lol).
My current job with CO-OP's call center is wonderful - the people I work with are great, especially my boss, and it provides for our family but the schedule I have to work is not very good. I only get to see the kids for a few minutes in the morning on 4 days of the week, and I have to work every Saturday. As the kids are getting older this means that I am missing out on more and more events like recitals and concerts, not to mention all the nightly dinners and evenings.
Last week I found out that one of our biggest clients, A+ FCU, is looking for a loan officer to replace someone who got promoted, so I applied for the position. My wonderful boss even put in a recommendation for me (he doesn't want me to go, but he knows my desire to spend more time with my family). I had a phone interview earlier this week and A+ seems very interested. They've asked me to come in for a face-to-face meeting this coming Thursday.
On the positive side, this new job would be a regular, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM job (the first time I've ever had a job like this!), and I'd only have to work every other Saturday, and never on Sunday! On the down side, A+ is located in Austin, so it would mean moving our family. Luckily, Gwen has her sister Virginia who lives in a suburb of Austin so we've already been down there in the past and know we like the area. The kids are largely excited about the prospect of moving, though Sarah does say she's going to miss all the people she loves in our ward here.
So, if we could ask everyone's prayers to be with us this week we'd appreciate it. It looks like A+ really wants me, but the deal could still fall through and there are concerns about moving and selling our home/buying a new one. We are praying often and going to the temple after the face-to-face interview.

So exciting! You will be in our prayers!
What happens with the Arlington program that you got your house fixed up with? Do you have to pay them back? We know the Lord will bless you because you have righteous desires (whether it's to get this job or not). Love you all.
And I loved Austin when I visited Uncle Robin there a few times.
Scott,
Mom and I will be praying especially hard for you this week. Love you.
Dad
You are in our prayers. Hope it works out!
I am so excited for you and hope it works out! I will definitely remember you in my prayers as well. (And the kids will pray too!)
Update: My face-to-face interview went really well. What was supposed to be a 1-hour meeting at most ended up being an hour and 45 minutes and ended with Roger (the head of the department and the guy interviewing me) leading me around the floor to introduce me to everyone who works there. Many times during the interview he'd seem to catch himself right before saying something like "when you start" or "when I hire you", so that is hopeful.
Gwen and I are feeling very good about this. They told me that we should hear back next week some time about whether or not I'll get the job and what the compensation will be (the pay has to be right for this to work, so if it isn't we won't be going even if they offer the job). Our prayers continue to be answered that we are moving in the right direction, so we are hopeful and know that one way or the other everything will work out the way the Lord wants it to.
Thanks for the update. Love you.
This is Mom - I'm at David's.
But David loves you too!

Glad it went well. Let us know what happens.
Prayer still coming your way big brother!
