This is Matthew outside the front of the Zoo. It is 9:00 am. (remember this)
Matthew in the hummingbird aviary. Leighann tried to catch him pointing out a bird but he caught her taking the picture.
We are waiting in line to feed the Giraffes. This is around noon.
We have a joke that the zoo puts a bird exhibit wherever they have an open spot. This is one of the many exhibits. Matthew liked to stop and try to find each bird so I was helping him.
This is Karen the Orangutan. She loves people and will hang out with whomever sits by the window to her enclosure. Matthew liked watching these amazing animals.
Whack-a-Matthew
This is the female lion. The male was pacing too much to get a good picture. As you can see it has gotten dark.
Aunt Leighann pretending to push Matthew out of the elephants tusks.
But when she did the other elephant in the herd squished Matthew!
This looks like the beginning to a great children's story.
By the time we got near this snake statue it was dark. It is right next to a rattle snake exhibit and there is a faint recording of a rattle that is played throughout the day. As we walked upon it, Leighann said "Lookout, Matthew, one got out!!" and he jumped back about 2 feet haha. So he had to get his revenge on the poor statue.
This is a sculpture by the elephants Matthew really liked. When you look at it this way it is a Mammoth
When viewed this way it is a modern day elephant. You can see the size difference.
On our way out Matthew got one last picture with a gorilla.
We took this picture about 20 minutes into our drive home. He slept until we got to Tommy and Magi's at 10:30pm
It was a long day but we got to see everything the zoo had to offer. From roaring lions and playful monkeys down to the smallest insects and birds the world over. We are so glad we were able to take Matthew with us to one of our favorite places in the world. Merry Christmas Matthew.

Thanks for the trip! I don't remember saying that it was my "desire" to work at the zoo. Desire is a weird word for me to use! I do think being a zoo vet would be cool. Yes, that snake was pretty scary! Thanks again! By:Matthew
He had a wonderful time. We loved listening to him tell us every detail of the day! Thank you for a perfect gift!
Wow that's so cool! I can't believe it takes the whole day to see everything the zoo has!
