Family Update

Well its been a while since we updated the blog. A lot has happened for our little family! First, I am no longer a Lead Artist at Black Lantern Studios. I put in my 2 week notice a few weeks ago and my last day there was the 31st. I left on very good terms, and my old boss made it clear if this current venture goes south I'd be welcome back.
So I was offered the position of Art Director for a brand new game studio from my old boss out in Virginia. He flew me out for a meeting last weekend and we got everything cemented for the full release of the game I've been working on, "Nick and Jane". I'm sure everyone has already heard that the "Lite"-version (the first 5 levels of the full version) is currently on the app store, and we already have over 3K downloads! (thats really good for a game we haven't spent a cent on for advertising) We're hoping to finish up the full version and submit it to Apple May 1st. (Still no word on the Android release just yet, but I assume it won't be until the end of April, right before the full launch)

So the best part of this new job is I get to work from home! I can't tell you guys how awesome it is to be able to just step away from the computer for 5 minutes and play with the kiddies in the middle of my work day! And I get to have lunch every day with my family! Its awesome. I feel like this is my opportunity to do something big, and I am loving every minute of it!

Here are some of my favorite family pics that Greg's Heather took while we were at Mom and Dad's. Thanks again Heather! :-D

It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOLD that day! It was soul-crushingly cold. Brain-mushifyingly cold. Curl-up-in-the-fetal-position-and-cry-like-a-baby-every-time-a-gust-of-wind-hit-youly cold. Greg's Heather deserves some kind of Photographer Purple Heart for this one!

Thank you so so much for updating! I worry about you all and miss you all and wonder how you're doing, and now I know! The Lord delivers his blessings when we do our part, and you have been doing your part it looks like! (And Roy still loves that Nick and Jane game!)

Great update. Just so you know Nick and Jane is spreading across the RCC campus. My friend has an iPad and we were playing it yesterday while waiting to talk to the councilors and we had 3 people ask us what game it was so they could download it. Great work!

I am so happy for you guys! Love the update. Man Jack Jack looks so much older since the summer!

I just downloaded the game and have put up a sign here at the institute that says, "If you want to keep coming to classes you have to download Nick and Jane! Android users are exempt, Non-smart phone users... it is not 2005 anymore!"

I am sure my bosses would agree.

So I was putting in my last insightful comment, and it seemed like it just paused, so I hit the "Post" button again, and again, and again, and next thing you know, there is 5 of the exact same post. I know I am funny, but not 5x funny. Sorry about all the deleted post, but those are just me and my over excited pushing of buttons!

Where were these pictures taken? Did you just find a random pretty door to someone's house and sneak up for a pic?

They were taken at Sister Cooke's!
