Update on Jacob
Jacob's surgery went really well. They were able to remove the tumor, and it had not penetrated through the dermis (I think that's the word for the sack like layer of tissue around the brain) which is a big relief. The surgeons put a titanium mesh in to replace the portion of his skull that was taken out. Also, they were able to move a muscle in his neck to mostly fill the hole made by the tumor. It had also stretched his skin enough that even with the portion they took out there was still enough skin to stitch close the wound. This was great because they didn't have to transplant any tissue from his back or leg. He's handling the pain pretty well, but its already obvious that he'll need some physical therapy after he heals to get full range of motion back in his neck. All in all, we have been very blessed. It's too soon to say how long he'll be in the hospital, but we're hoping for less than the 6 days the doctors originally were predicting.

Jacob is a stud, for going through all that at age 12 and fighting through it hard. Love you all!
Thank you so much for the update. We are so happy that it went so well. We continue to pray for you all.
Thank you for updating this! We are sure proud of Jacob for being so brave. We love you!
Jacob just amazes Peter and I. We're keeping you all in our prayers, and hope you can feel the love of our Father in Heaven through this most recent trial. Sure are proud of our little nephew for being so brave and enduring it well. We know you can do this, Jacob!
