I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers regarding my admission to BYU this past month. I received the email last night around midnight.
I was rejected admission to BYU.
As a result Leighann and I will not be moving to Utah but will most likely end up in San Diego at San Diego State University.
Thank you again for all of your love and support. I look forward to seeing everyone at reunion.

We're so sorry, Peter and Leighann. We know you really wanted to go there. But with the number of us praying "if this is Thy will", there must be a reason the Lord knows about. We know you will do great at San Diego State!
All the very best to you, Son. I know this must be a big disappointment, but I just know it will work out for the best, as Mom indicated above. Love ya, Dad
I am so excited to move to San Diego-- in the two full days we have known about BYU, I have not only seen that rent there is comparable to the area where we currently live (instead of massively more expensive like we were anticipating), but I am also finding there are a plethora of accounting positions. So, while I am bummed I won't be in close proximity to Bippe and Mel and Heather and Roy, and also that we won't be able to try and snatch up an affordable home, I am excited for the possibilities ahead, and know the Lord has great things in store for us.
In fact, I'll share this: today (because I am actively seeking a job now in the San Diego area), I called my old work in Sacramento and talked to the Vice President of the company. He gave me some great advice, and told me that every July he and Bill (the president) go to a conference in San Diego and told me we could do lunch when they are down there. Then he said, "And there is a beautiful temple there. I believe it is a Mormon temple, right?" I confirmed that it is, and he just raved about how every time they go down there, he loves passing it on the freeway. I was able to bear my testimony about how much I love going to the temple, and answered some questions he had. He remembered when I had invited him to the Sacramento Temple open house, and asked me why San Diego's temple is so much larger. It was a really good conversation!
Wow! Our great little missionary is still at it--way to go Sweetheart! Love ya,
Dad
