Hi all! Well I (Shannon) wanted to let you all know that last Friday I had a job interview in Columbia for an Instructional Aid position. I have been looking for any position to get in that school district and this is the only interview I had so far, but it's better than nothing. The interview went amazingly! The woman in charge of the department (she is the one who does the hiring) said she loved me, wanted me, welcomed me to the team, and would put my request for hire today. So I should hear back from HR in a couple days and that is when I would sign the paperwork. So it's like 98% certain that I have this job, just haven't signed a contract yet. Anywho that is our news for this week. I am really excited and I have faith that this is where Heavenly Father wants me right now. So while it's not my ideal, it is still a good paycheck in my field. Also I think the lady loved me so much that if a lead teacher position came available she would give it to me. But I can only hope for that right now.
This opportunity is leading us into a lot of new aspects of life. We are looking for a house to buy in Columbia and have actually found one with a renter in the lower finished basement already. We have prayed about it and feel confident that we are on the path the Lord wants us to be on. Thanks for all your support and please pray for us to be able to make this whole transition in our lives go well and that we might find what we need.
Love you all and can't wait to see you in just over 3 weeks!

yay!! Congratulations! So what does this position mean you will be doing? Will you be with just one class as an aide or will you be used in multiple classes? This past year, we had a 2nd grade technician woman who came and we could use her for a half hour every day for whatever we needed her for (tutoring a small group of kids in reading, math enrichment, one on one retesting, etc) This woman also did this throughout the day in half hour increments for all other grades. Something like that?
Yipee!
YEA--It is absolutely NO surprise that your prospective supervisor loved you Shannon! Anyone around you for more than two minutes loves you! We are praying for you and Aaron (and everyone else for that matter)! We love you all. Grandpa and Grandma

"NO surprise that your prospective supervisor loved you Shannon! Anyone around you for more than two minutes loves you!"- couldn't have said it better myself! (yes i know it was already accidentally posted twice but its so true it bears a 3rd repeating!)
Congrats Shannon, we'll be keeping you guys in our prayers!
Seriously, Shannon, you're the best!! And with the blessings of being full tithe payers and living righteously, you guys have been blessed so much :D I know you told all of this to us in person (thankfully we get to have you around in person!), but I am still SO happy for you and Aaron and everything that is going your way. Just shows, when you are moving down the path where the Lord wants you, you get blessed with amazing opportunities :D
