So the last week and a half has been a bit of a roller-coaster for the Texas Gibbons regarding Jacob's health. At the beginning of the week we got great news - the doctors detected no new polyps in Jacob's colon during his latest test, so he doesn't have to get checked again for two or maybe even three years!
Then in the middle of the week we noticed that the skin at the back of Jacob's neck seemed to be bulging and he told us that he was having trouble turning his head as well as starting to get headaches. So we got him scheduled for an immediate MRI which took place on Friday. Yesterday his doctors met, examined him, and told us that he will be going back into the hospital for another surgery to remove the tumor that is growing right next to his vertebrae. We found out today that the preliminary plan is for him to go in on Tuesday, September 16, but that could change as the doctors' schedules get set.
We're all kind of bummed as things seemed to have been going so well this summer, but we know that the Lord has a plan for us, so we are doing our best to remain faithful and have hope. We'd appreciate everyone's prayers for Jacob in the coming weeks.

You know you have our prayers. Let us know when it's set for sure please.
We'll be praying for you too, Jacob!
Such an emotional roller-coster. Wish we lived closer to give ore help and support.
I'm secretly hoping Roy will get a job in Texas close to you guys so I can be there to help babysit and provide meals and do whatever else I can to help my sweet nephew and the rest of you guys! But since we are in Utah, for now, prayers is the least I can do! Love you all. Give Jacob a big (gentle) hug from Roy and I!
That is so heartbreaking to hear. You all are in our prayers. What hospital do you go to? And, what is his doctor's/oncologist's name? The wife of one of my firm's principals works closely in that field for 15 years after their daughter was diagnosed with cancer at 13. I told her about Jacob and she was asking.
Prayers headed your way!Tell Jacob to stay strong-- Heavenly Father wouldn't give him these trials if Jacob couldn't handle them and learn from them.
The hospital's name is Dell Children's Hospital of Austin. The oncologist's name is Doctor Harrod.
Thanks for the prayers everyone.
We got confirmation that it is for sure on Tuesday.
We have been praying for Jacob every day. We really hope it goes well. We love you guys!
