Mom and Dad didn't want to come back!

We had a great time on our vacation. Dad was pretty sick the first week while we were at the Orlando timeshare, but we still got to go to St. Augustine (oldest city in America, with the oldest fort) and the Kennedy Space Center (more enjoyable than I thought it would be!). The highlight was the cruise - no cooking or cleaning for me, great things to see and do, and a full day snorkeling. Well, full day for Dad; and 1 1/2 hour time for me. He will have to tell you all at reunion the neat things he saw. I did get to see a stingray.
Dad and I were saying how great it would be if all of the adults could go on a cruise together. Maybe before we leave on our first mission?? Or between missions?? Start saving those pennies!

How awesome! Magi's Sister Katie just went on a 7 day cruise down to Mexico. I think she only paid $500 for the whole week, which is pretty good when you think of food and sleeping quarters. That would be so fun.

With booking 20 people, maybe we'd get a discount.

Sorry to be a spoil sport, but there is no way that Scott will go on a cruise. The last one he went on he was nauseous the whole time. I've always wanted to go go on a cruise, though. So maybe I will go and leave Scott with the kids! :-)

They now have meds for the nausea - I saw a lot of people with a round "bandaid" behind their ear.

wow thats so cool! you two look so happy! and mom i love that dress as always! i have always wanted to go on a cruise! they sound like so much fun. i think the hard part would be finding a port we can all get to for roughly cheap.

and scott i have heard of those too i had a friend who went on a cruise this summer and she was dog sick the first day and then got one of those bandaids and was all good for the rest of the trip!

any who love you guys and glad to see you enjoyed yourselves!

I wouldn't let feeling sick keep me from going on a cruise and snorkeling! I take Dramamine to help me when we first start off until I'm more used to it (like with flying too).

I loved getting to hear dad's stories when we talked on the phone today. He got some really cool experiences with snorkeling!

Scott here.

Yes, I know about the seasickness meds, but they seem to have no effect for me. Unfortunately, my susceptibility to seasickness seems to be getting worse with time. Several years back we took a ferry from a pier in San Francisco out to the island of Alcatraz. I was sick the moment I stepped on the ship. And I'd made sure to take medicine a full hour before we got on just so that it would have time to get into my system.

The really crazy thing is, I still can read a book in a moving vehicle, and have no problem with airplanes. But the moment I set foot on a ship... I can still ride a canoe, though! :)

That settles it! Scott can paddle along the cruise ship in his canoe while we all have fun.

Ha ha Greg. I love my family! What a hoot if we could all find a way to pull this off! Love you all. Dad

Scott says:

"A canoe beside the ship! Why didn't I think of that? I should put all my problems on the family blog. Like what do I do about this bleeding pustule..."

Uh, you don't want to hear the rest of what he said.

Haha, I could see Scott paddling along beside us, but it would make it awfully hard to have a night of RPGs!! We'd for sure lose the cool die to some sea creature...
